The Treasury

The Treasury is a respected and influential central economic agency, and the Australian Government’s lead economic adviser.

Our role is to predict and analyse policy issues with a whole of economy perspective.  We understand government and stakeholder circumstances, quickly respond to changing events and directions, and monitor global economic conditions to make sure Australia is well placed to respond to emerging trends. We also work with state and territory governments on key economic, business, and social policy, and manage federal financial relations.
