The Australian Border Force (ABF) is an operationally independent body within the Home Affairs Portfolio. Our mission is to protect Australia’s border through legitimate trade and trade. We are responsible for border operations, investigations, compliance, detention (facilities and centres), enforcement and customs services. We operate in a rapidly evolving global environment that demands we perform to the highest standards while remaining agile to anticipate and respond to emerging threats, and capitalise on opportunities to partner with domestic and international border, customs, immigration, intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
