CareersXpo
Inclusive Night Event
Wednesday
7th August 4pm to 7pm
On Wednesday 7th August from 4pm to 7pm the
CareersXpo will be open to the public, particularly parents and students,
and career changers
who are seeking to understand more about the myriads of careers
and courses are available.
This Night
Event is also an inclusive event, and we
are encouraging people who would feel more comfortable attending
when the venue is not so crowded or noisy. We will also be
offering a quiet
time from 6pm to 7pm when all noises will be kept
to a minimum.
As part of this exciting Night
Event, we feel that exhibitors will have
the opportunity
to engage in more quality interactions with both
students and adults. It would be appreciated if exhibitors could
stay on their booths for this night session to give the evening
attendees a full array of booths to visit.
A diverse
range of exhibitors will be present at the
CareersXpo Night Event from universities, training organisations,
disability employment services, indigenous employment groups, gap
year options, businesses seeking employees, government
departments and careers advisors.
Our two distinguished guest speakers are
Dr Brad
Tucker at 6pm, an astrophysicist with many cosmic
tales to tell, and Professor
Genevieve Bell at 530pm, who has been
revolutionising the technologically focused Silicon Valley by
introducing an anthropological view into its machinations.
During the evening, we will present Seminar
sessions in the Coorong Pavilion and Conference Centre,
4pm to
7pm including Career information
sessions run by the ACT Education Directorate.
The sessions cover topics such as how to gain entry to a
university, staying at school while doing an apprenticeship,
knowing your rights at work, careers in the gaming industry,
pathways for people with a neurodivergent condition and medical
entry myths. More details about the seminar
program are in the exhibitor program.
